PostPosted: Mon Nov 21, 2005 12:14 pm    Post subject: Reclaiming a pasture

We recently purchased a home in the country with two acres. The back acre was once and pasture that is now overrun with weeds. I am trying to "reclaim" that chunk of land and incorporate it into the existing lawn. The problem is that the pasture ground is so uneven that it taxes the regular riding mower I currently have. What is the best way to restore the smoothness of the ground? We are considering working on it in segments each year by bringing in topsoil and leveling a section and then plant wildflowers. Each year we would gradually reclaim more pasture. Is there a better way to go about this? *
